Saint Somewhere Tasting Room Project Brewery Expansion on Kickstarter

After 8 years as a production brewery, Saint Somewhere is expanding and opening a Traditional Belgian Tasting Room with two guest rooms on site!

About This Project

Saint Somewhere is very excited to announce that after 8 years of being just a production facility, and a tiny one at that, they are moving, expanding and opening a tasting room!

They are purchasing a historic house built in 1912 to use as a tasting room/Belgian beer bar downstairs, and upstairs, they will have two guest rooms available for a night or a week in Downtown Tarpon Springs, Florida. One mile from the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and the famous Sponge Docks. Tarpon Springs is also home to a number of world class Greek restaurants.

On the brewery side, they are going from our current 1200sf to 2000sf, which doesn’t sound large but after working in 1200sf for 8 years… 2000sf is sprawling! Saint Somewhere is adding two foeders, two more 18bbl fermenters and adding a few parts and pieces to help with the bottling process.

The showpiece will be the tasting room!

Once completed, it will be a replica of an old world Belgian beer bar. Antique bar. Uniformed staff. Proper glassware. Lots of small tables. Menu of charcuterie. All candle lighting on Friday and Saturday nights. Guest taps will include the best and brightest from Belgium and France along with an extensive bottle list and bottle cellar stocked with Shelton Brothers Importing’s finest.

Barley Mow Brewing Co. Comes to Jacksonville February 25th

Barley Mow Brewing Company out of Largo, FL has completed their expansion into their new 25,000 sq. foot facility. They are currently brewing on their brand new 30 bbl brewhouse that was fabricated in Saint Petersburg, FL by BrewFab LLC.

To celebrate the expansion and hard work they have put into their new facility they will begin to spread their footprint around the state. Including launching in the Jacksonville market late February. They will be hosting a few events around town, we have the details for you below, and will be attending the Riverside Craft Beer Festival on February 28th.

“We wanted to create unique events that fit with our image and philosophy while still being approachable. We believe that our beer is for everyone. Our entire staff believes in our mission statement ‘Simple. Honest. Craft’ and we want that to reflect in all aspects of our brands and brewery,” says Thomas Barris, Chief Marketing Officer at Barley Mow Brewing Company.

Their core beers, which will be featured at the events around Jacksonville, as well as at Riverside Craft Beer Festival include:

Quackalope – American IPA, 6.8% ABV. A traditional American IPA – citrusy, piney, and refreshing.

The Unkindness – American Black Ale, 7.4% ABV. This is the beer that got it all started. We used a ton of hops for both bittering and aroma. It’s dark, but don’t be fooled, it’s not nearly as roasty as it appears.

Selkie – Belgian Rye Pale Ale, 5.1% ABV. This unique beer has a combination of fruity Belgian yeast and rye spice followed by a smooth biscuity finish. It’s citrusy, herbal, and delicious.

Maven – Nitro Milk Stout, 6.5% ABV. This Milk stout has roasted malt character balanced by a silky smooth sweetness that makes for an easy drinking full flavor stout
