26 Degrees of Creating Great Beer in a Friendly Environment

Plans on tap to open craft brewery, 26th Degree Brewing Co., in Pompano Beach.

“If you brew it, they will come.

City leaders think the 26th Degree Brewing Co., a craft beer brewery expected to open next year, will create more of a draw for the city’s hoped-for beach hot spot area than your average stretch of restaurants and shops would.

‘One of the things with a brewery is there’s a high demand for it,’ said Shanna Benson, marketing director for Pompano Beach’s community redevelopment agencies. ‘The craft beer industry in Florida in the last two years has really taken off. It’s the whole shift to buy local as opposed to going to Publix and buying a Budweiser product.’

The 26th Degree Brewing Co. will feature at first about 10 unique brews, which brewer and co-owner Greg Lieberman describes as “balanced and traditional.” The 21,000-square-foot brewery will include a 5,000-square-foot tap room.”
